LED Lighting Upgrade for Manufacturer

Bulla Dairy Foods, one of Australia’s oldest family dairy companies, is renowned for manufacturing and exporting a broad range of high-quality chilled and frozen dairy products across the nation.

Project Challenges

Bulla’s commitment to improved sustainability prompted a search for energy-efficient lighting alternatives that could significantly reduce its substantial overall energy costs. The challenge was multifaceted, encompassing a wide array of operational environments within their facilities: from brightly lit production lines requiring precise illumination to efficiently managed offices, expansive storage areas, and critically, cold and dark spaces like freezers and chillers, along with various exterior zones. Each area presented unique lighting demands, requiring a solution that could deliver optimal visibility and safety while drastically cutting energy consumption across the board.

Our Solution

Next Green Group implemented a comprehensive LED lighting solution specifically designed to optimise energy efficiency across four key Bulla facilities located throughout Victoria. This extensive upgrade meticulously addressed the diverse lighting needs of each area. In critical production zones, high-performance LEDs were installed to ensure superior illumination, supporting precision and safety standards.

Offices received lighting designed for comfort and productivity, while large storage areas, including freezers and chillers, benefited from robust, cold-tolerant LED fixtures that dramatically reduced energy consumption even in extreme temperatures. Exterior spaces were also upgraded with durable, efficient LED lighting, enhancing security and visibility.

The implementation of these advanced LED lighting systems significantly improved the Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) environment by providing brighter, more consistent illumination and reducing issues like flicker and glare. Beyond safety, the upgrade resulted in substantially reduced operating costs through drastic energy savings and a diminished carbon footprint for Bulla Dairy Foods. All installation work was meticulously planned and executed with minimal disruption to the facilities’ continuous dairy production operations, ensuring business continuity throughout the transition.
