Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for Community Hub
The Mill Bowral is a vibrant community hub, serving as home to a diverse array of retail spaces, modern office environments, creative studios, and a popular weekly farmers market.
Project Goals
As a dynamic hub hosting various businesses and activities, The Mill Bowral faced the challenge of ensuring a reliable and cost-effective energy supply across its diverse facilities. Maintaining optimal operating conditions for retail, office, and event spaces, while simultaneously managing overall energy consumption and costs, was a key priority. The goal was to implement an energy solution that would support the hub’s vibrant operations, reduce its environmental impact, and contribute to long-term sustainability – all without requiring a substantial upfront capital investment.
Our Solution
Next Green Group partnered with The Mill Bowral to implement a strategic Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). This solution enables The Mill Bowral to benefit from on-site solar energy generation without requiring a significant upfront capital investment. We designed and installed a bespoke solar PV system, transforming available roof space into a clean energy asset. Under the PPA model, The Mill Bowral purchases the electricity generated by the solar system at a predetermined, often lower, rate than traditional grid electricity. This approach provides immediate cost savings, predictable energy expenses for years to come, and a substantial reduction in reliance on fossil fuel-generated power.
