Virtual Power Plant for Shopping Centre
Nestled within the vibrant suburb of Wallsend, a key locale in the greater Newcastle region, Wallsend Village serves as a central hub for the community’s everyday needs. This accessible, single-level centre caters to daily needs with a variety of retailers, including supermarkets and specialty stores.
We empowered Wallsend Village Shopping Centre with a comprehensive Virtual Power Plant (VPP) solution, transforming their energy management. By strategically integrating a solar PV system, battery storage, and smart metering, we enabled the centre to maximise the utilisation of its on-site energy resources. Through our advanced software platform, excess generated energy is now efficiently stored and can be distributed across the centre’s infrastructure, providing real-time monitoring and optimisation of their assets. The shopping centre is experiencing significant reductions in energy bills and emissions, while also generating new revenue streams, all contributing to a more sustainable and resilient renewable energy grid.
