Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for Community Club
West Wallsend Workers Club offers various entertainment and facilities for the local community. The Club also continuously supports many local organisations for community welfare.
Project Challenges
For a busy community venue like West Wallsend Workers Club, high operational electricity cost is a common challenge. They were actively seeking an on-site renewable energy source to mitigate these expenses and align with broader sustainability goals, with minimal upfront costs.
Our Solution
Next Green Group provided West Wallsend Workers Club with a strategic Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). This “Solar as a Service” solution allowed the Club to harness the benefits of on-site solar energy generation with no upfront capital expenditure. Next Green Group designed, installed, and now maintains a robust solar photovoltaic (PV) system on the Club’s premises.
Under the terms of the PPA, West Wallsend Workers Club simply purchases the clean electricity generated by the solar panels at a pre-agreed rate, which is typically lower and more predictable than fluctuating grid electricity prices. This arrangement provides immediate energy cost savings and offers long-term budget certainty, protecting the Club from future electricity price volatility for the duration of the agreement (25 years).
There was excellent communication between all parties involved which made the process seamless. I could not have asked for any better and I have already recommended a PPA to several other managers in the club industry.
